A Coastal Quarrel

After a big move from the UK to Australia I found I had much to learn to photograph the wildlife. The light was different, the context was different, the behaviour was different. Animals were less scared of me, but they also had more places to move to, more trees and branches to fly to and more space to just disappear. It was surprising to me just how different the process was to being in the UK, but after a few months, I finally began to adapt, and took this image of a couple of Welcome Swallows battling it out on a beach North of where I now live, after being convinced to join my flatmate camping. I could not tell if they were friends, family, or enemies, but they were certainly bickering for space, so I named this photo 'A Coastal Quarrel'. It represents a victory for me in taking some big steps learning this new environment.
